Privacy Policy
Effective date: [8 February 2026]
BitFitness (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information BitFitness accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have when using the BitFitness Apple Watch app and its companion iPhone app (if installed).
1. Summary (Plain English)
Your Health data stays on your device. BitFitness processes HealthKit data locally and does not upload it to our servers.
No tracking. We do not track you across apps and websites and we do not use advertising identifiers.
No ads, no selling data. We do not sell, rent, or share HealthKit data with third parties.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We don’t see your payment card details.
2. Information the App Accesses
2.1 Health and Fitness Data (HealthKit)
With your explicit permission, BitFitness may read certain Apple Health/HealthKit data such as:
activity data (workouts, movement, active calories);
heart rate and cardio-related metrics;
sleep and recovery-related signals.
Purpose: This data is used only to provide fitness and wellness features (for example, generating personalized daily training guidance and showing progress).
HealthKit note: BitFitness does not write HealthKit data unless the App explicitly offers such a feature and you grant the required permission.
2.2 Subscription Status (App Store)
If you purchase a subscription, BitFitness may check your subscription entitlement/status to unlock paid features. This verification is performed using Apple’s In-App Purchase / StoreKit mechanisms.
3. Information We Do Not Collect (No Tracking / No Ads)
BitFitness does not:
collect personal identifiers like your name, home address, phone number, or date of birth through the App;
collect or track your precise location;
access your contacts, photos, or microphone for tracking purposes;
use IDFA or other advertising identifiers;
run third-party advertising networks;
run third-party analytics SDKs that track you across apps or websites;
build profiles about you or your behavior for advertising.
Tracking: BitFitness does not “track” you as that term is used in Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency framework.
4. Data Storage, Processing, and Retention
On-device processing: HealthKit data accessed by BitFitness is processed locally on your device(s).
No Health data on our servers: We do not upload, store, or maintain your HealthKit data on external servers.
No BitFitness accounts: We do not require you to create a BitFitness account.
Retention:
If you uninstall the App, the App no longer has access to HealthKit data.
You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings / the Health app.
Any app-generated content stored locally (e.g., preferences) is retained on your device until you delete the App or clear it via system settings (depending on iOS behavior).
5. Subscriptions and Payments (Handled by Apple)
BitFitness offers an auto-renewable subscription with an optional free trial through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.
Billing: Payment is processed by Apple, not by us. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Access: Apple may provide us with limited information required to confirm your subscription status (e.g., whether the subscription is active) so we can enable access to subscription features.
Manage / cancel: You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or share your HealthKit data.
We may disclose information only in limited circumstances, such as:
Legal requirements: if required to comply with applicable law or valid legal process; or
Protection: to protect rights, safety, and security of users and the App (to the extent permitted by law).
Because we do not store your HealthKit data on our servers, we generally do not have Health data to disclose.
7. HealthKit Compliance
BitFitness complies with Apple HealthKit requirements:
HealthKit data is used only for fitness and wellness purposes.
HealthKit data is not used for advertising, marketing, or tracking.
HealthKit data is not sold, licensed, or shared with third parties.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
manage which Health categories BitFitness can access (iOS Settings / Health app);
revoke permissions at any time;
uninstall the App to stop data access.
Since we do not store HealthKit data on our servers, there is no server-side Health data for you to request, export, correct, or delete from us.
9. Support Communications
If you contact us for support (for example, by email), we will receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, and provide support. We do not use support emails for advertising.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the App and any locally stored data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
We do not transfer your HealthKit data to our servers because we do not collect or store it externally. If you contact support by email, your email provider and ours may process messages in various countries depending on their infrastructure.
12. Children’s Privacy
BitFitness is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
